American Medical ID Gives Back to Homeless Veterans

VA Stand Down

On Friday, October 6th, American Medical ID participated in the Operation Stand Down Rebound: Harvey Relief for our Homeless Veteran Community hosted by the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

“Stand Down” is a military term referring to the brief period of time a soldier leaves an active combat area to recoup, rest and regain strength. These nationwide Stand Down events are open to all Homeless Veterans and Veterans at risk of being homeless, male or female, who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Local service organizations provided services such as free meals, free clothing, showers, haircuts, medical screenings and many other benefits and resources.

American Medical ID participated in the event by providing on site medical ID engraving and were able to donate hundreds of medical IDs to our homeless veterans in need. Our team worked long and hard in the Texas heat to make sure every homeless veteran that needed an ID got one. Our President and CEO, Rick Russell, even rolled up his sleeves and engraved IDs!
